Enhancing critical features of poly(amino acid) based meshes

The following manuscript presents a comprehensive investigation regarding the influence of electrospinning parameters on fiber quality and mechanical properties nanofibrous poly(amino acid) meshes. At first, we examine including: solvent options, polymer concentrations, collector speed distance, voltage, needle sizes flow rates to prepare fibrous scaffolds based polysuccinimide. main objective was attempt decrease diameter as much possible while not reducing quality. After that meshes were investigated, demonstrate two methods reinforce them: mechanically induced alignment fibers multilayer compression. Characterization include solubility study, viscosity conductivity measurements, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, uniaxial test. Fiber size successfully reduced from 615 280 nm without any aberrations. Mechanical performance only improved almost three-fold, but also enhanced in directions due composition. With these optimizations, PSI mesh now possess favorable features for biomedical application according relevant literature.
